Stuart Hide – Director & Physiotherapist

Stuart qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1996 and currently works both in the public and private sectors. He obtained his Masters degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2006 and is a member of the coveted MACP. Stuart has a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating musculoskeletal conditions, and has a special interest in the management of Spinal Pain. He works very closely with the local spinal surgeons in his NHS role, and is able to interpret MRI scans of the spine and give appropriate advice. Stuart has played most sports at a good competitive level and has a single figure golf handicap. His extensive training has enabled him to understand the mechanical stresses each activity places on your body, and using sound clinical thought processes will apply his skills using ‘hands on’ treatment to help your pain. Maria Hide – Director & Physiotherapist

Maria qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1996 and gained 10 years valuable experience working in a busy NHS musculoskeletal department. As a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Maria worked closely with consultants in the management of complex shoulder conditions. During this time she obtained her Masters Degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy with coveted MACP membership. As a private practitioner she continues to specialise in neck and shoulder problems and has a high level of success in treating conditions such as Shoulder Impingement Syndrome, Instability and Whiplash Related Disorders. Stephen Meadows – Physiotherapist

Stephen qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1998 and is state registered. Having gained clinical experience in all areas of physiotherapy, he now works in both the public and private sectors treating musculoskeletal disorders. Working closely with orthopaedic consultants, Stephen utilises the latest research to ensure best clinical practice. His specialities include sports injury management, rehabilitation of fractures and joint replacement surgery, and physiotherapy for children. Currently, he is an active member of the European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Rehabilitation (EUSSER) and regularly attends conferences throughout Europe. Jackie Kearns – Holistic Massage Therapist

Jackie trained and qualified in London as a level 4 Holistic Massage Therapist and is a member of the Massage Training Institute. Jackie works in Holistic Massage which aims to restore the balance of body and mind taking into account each individuals physical and emotional well being. Jackie has been working in this field for over 4 years and continues to broaden her knowledge. She is passionate about healing the body and mind through various paths from holistic therapies to consuming the correct nutritional foods. Her knowledge and skills help her to release overworked tense muscles, assist in recovery after injury / surgery, and also to ease stress by promoting relaxation. Frances has successfully worked in the counselling field for over 10 years and has adhered to continued professional development throughout. She believes that body and mind are closely connected and total wellbeing is dependent on combined mental and physical health. She has a strong following with clients attending her clinic from all over Kent. Frances offers counselling for a wide range of issues that typically include: Depression, Anxiety, Anger Management, Bereavement, Relationship Problems, Eating Disorders, Childhood Issues and Abuse. Laura Wightman – Flow Pilates Instructor

Laura qualified as a Pilates Instructor in 2010 and has been educating clients ever since. She is certified to work with women pre and post pregnancy and recently qualified to teach Pilates to children. In addition she has a level 3 CYQ enabling her to rehabilitate clients using studio equipment. Pilates is her passion having participated in classes for over 10 years after developing a lower back complaint. This gave her the idea to become a Pilates Instructor and she has since set up ‘Flow Pilates’ in the local Hythe & Saltwood area. Laura now runs a number of weekly classes from the Saltwood Village Hall (max. 10 clients per class) and she spends the rest of her time focusing on 1-2-1 sessions on the mat and Reformer. We are able to offer Clinical Pilates Sessions on a 1-2-1 basis here at Hide Physiotherapy. Laura also enjoys her time cycling, paddle boarding and renovating her house.
