Stuart Hide – MSc Manipulative Physiotherapy
Director & Chartered Physiotherapist
Stuart qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1996 and currently works both in the public and private sectors. He obtained his Masters degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2006 and is a member of the coveted MACP. Stuart has a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating musculoskeletal conditions, and has a special interest in the management of Spinal Pain. He works very closely with the local spinal surgeons, and is able to interpret MRI scans of the spine and give appropriate advice. Stuart has played most sports at a good competitive level and has a single figure golf handicap. His extensive training has enabled him to understand the mechanical stresses each activity places on your body. Using sound clinical thought processes and a patient centred approach he will apply his skills using ‘hands on’ treatment where appropriate to help your pain. Maria Hide – MSc Manipulative Physiotherapy
Director & Chartered Physiotherapist
Maria qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1996 and gained 10 years valuable experience working in a busy NHS musculoskeletal department. As a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Maria worked closely with consultants in the management of complex shoulder conditions. During this time she obtained her Masters Degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy with coveted MACP membership. As a private practitioner she continues to specialise in neck and shoulder problems and has a high level of success in treating conditions such as Shoulder Impingement Syndrome, Instability and Whiplash Related Disorders. Maria enjoys juggling a busy work/family life balance and enjoys dog walks, VW camping and swimming. Please contact us if you’d like to discuss your case.

Stephen Meadows – BSc Hons Physiotherapy
Chartered Physiotherapist
Stephen qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1998. Having gained over 20 years valuable clinical experience working in the NHS treating musculoskeletal disorders, he now works solely at Hide Physiotherapy. Working closely with Orthopaedic Consultants, Stephen utilises the latest research to ensure best clinical practice. His specialities include Upper and Lower limb Rehabilitation, Sports Injury Management, Rehabilitation of Fractures, Joint Replacement Surgery, and Physiotherapy for Children (Aged 5 Years and above). Currently, he is an active member of the European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Rehabilitation (EUSSER) and the Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists (APCP). James Hide – BSc Hons, Sport Therapy and Rehabilitation
James is newly qualified and has a strong passion for helping individuals recover, perform and thrive. He is enthusiastic and committed to delivering evidence-based practice, with a particular interest in injury prevention and performance enhancement. James is a talented sportsman with a considerable depth of knowledge in most sports – he has a particularly interested in cricket, football, racket sports and a new-found love for golf. James is very keen to develop a strong client base utilising his hands on treatment skills in musculoskeletal assessment, sports massage, therapy and rehabilitation.

David Wayte – Diploma in Reflexology
Practitioner Reflexologist
David qualified in 2000, graduating with the Association of Reflexologists Diploma in Reflexology. Since then, he became the first Reflexologist in the UK to become a member of the Royal Society of Medicine and went on to teach Reflexology. David now runs the UK’s largest school (11 venues across England) and he also teaches internationally. Although David teaches, his primary passion is still for treating clients, and he is delighted to be part of the team at Hide Physiotherapy.
Reflexology is amazing for restoring the body’s natural balance. David has a wealth of experience in treating clients with Menopause, Pain, Arthritis, Stress, Anxiety and Plantar Fasciitis. He was also filmed in 2007 for the BBC3 series “Make Me A Baby” and was dubbed ‘The Baby Maker’ due to the success he had in helping couples conceive.

Anna Williams – Massage Therapist (Diplomas)
Anna qualified in 2009 after a 3 year degree course in Remedial Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy. As part of the course she trained in Swedish & Sports Massage, Thai Yoga Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy. Since then Anna has completed Diplomas in Indian Head Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Myofascial Release and Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Massage Therapy is an absolute passion of Anna’s and she really enjoys tailoring personalised treatments and forging lasting professional relationships to manage your condition. Anna offers treatments for common neuromuscular injuries, relaxation, stress relief and general maintenance. She has particular success in the management of migraines, tennis elbow, sciatica, plantar fasciitis and muscular tension relief.

Laura Wightman – Flow Pilates Instructor
Laura qualified as a Pilates Instructor in 2010 and has been educating clients ever since. She is certified to work with women pre and post pregnancy and recently qualified to teach Pilates to children. In addition she has a level 3 CYQ enabling her to rehabilitate clients using studio equipment. Pilates is her passion having participated in classes for over 10 years after developing a lower back complaint. This gave her the idea to become a Pilates Instructor and she has since set up ‘Flow Pilates’ in the local Hythe & Saltwood area. Laura now runs a number of weekly classes and she spends the rest of her time focusing on 1-2-1 sessions on the mat and Reformer. We are able to offer Clinical Pilates Sessions on a 1-2-1 basis here at Hide Physiotherapy. Laura also enjoys her time cycling, paddle boarding and renovating her house.
